He is the President of the Italian Association of Conrad Studies. His books include <em>Conrad\u2019s Fiction as Critical Discourse<\/em> (Cambridge University Press, 1991-2008), <em>Introduzione a Conrad<\/em> (Laterza, 1991), and <em>R. L. Stevenson: la poetica del romanzo<\/em> (Bulzoni, 2001). He co-edited with Richard Dury <em>Robert Louis Stevenson, Writer of Boundaries<\/em> (University of Wisconsin Press, 2006) and <em>European Stevenson<\/em> (Cambridge Scholars, 2009). Aside from more than twenty essays on Stevenson as well as on Conrad, he has written a number of essays ranging from Chaucer to Graham Greene, through Shakespeare, Coleridge, Kipling, Ouida and others.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years he has published contributions on a variety of topics, including the beginning of the international antiracist movement (\u201cI documenti UNESCO sulla &#8216;Race Question&#8217; e l\u2019ambigua nascita dell\u2019antirazzismo\u201d [2010]), postcolonialism and multiculturalism (\u201cMemoria storica e critica del presente: usi e abusi dei termini \u2018multiculturalismo\u2019 e \u2018postcoloniale\u2019\u201d [2013]), and two long essays for <em>Letteratura Europea<\/em> UTET: \u201cIl mondo nuovo del romanzo: 1900-1925\u201d and \u201cL\u2019avventura\u201d (2014) He has translated, among other novels, Conrad\u2019s <em>An Outcast of the Islands<\/em>, <em>The Secret Agent<\/em> and <em>Chance<\/em> and Stevenson\u2019s <em>Treasure Island<\/em> and <em>The Beach of Fales\u00e1<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bionote Richard ambrosini is Professor of English Literature in the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the Universit\u00e0 di Roma Tre.
