Domenico\nLovascio is Ricercatore of English Literature at Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di\nGenova. He received the Ben Jonson Discoveries Award for outstanding contribution\nto The Ben Jonson Journal<\/em> in 2020. He was awarded the 2014\nDoctoral Dissertation Prize by the Italian Association of English Studies and\nwas a Visiting Scholar at Sheffield Hallam University in 2016. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the first\nEnglish-Italian edition of Ben Jonson\u2019s Catiline\nHis Conspiracy <\/em>(Genova: ECIG, 2011) and the monograph Un nome, mille volti. Giulio Cesare nel teatro\ninglese della prima et\u00e0 moderna<\/em> (Roma: Carocci, 2015) \u2013 winner\nin 2016 of two National Literary Awards \u2013 his articles and chapters have been\npublished in English Literary Renaissance<\/em>, Renaissance Studies<\/em>, Early Theatre<\/em>, Medieval and Renaissance Drama in England<\/em>, Early Modern Literary Studies<\/em>, Borrowers and Lenders<\/em>, Notes & Queries<\/em> and the\nArden Early Modern Drama Guide to William Shakespeare\u2019s Julius Caesar<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the Italian advisor to the Oxford\nedition of The Complete Works\nof John Marston <\/em>(gen. ed. Martin Butler and Matthew Steggle)\nand a contributor to the Lost\nPlays Database<\/em> (gen. ed. Roslyn Knutson, David McInnis and\nMatthew Steggle). He has edited an issue of Textus. English Studies in Italy<\/em> on \u2018The Uses of Rome in\nEnglish Renaissance Drama\u2019 with Lisa Hopkins; the Arden Early Modern Drama Guide to Shakespeare\u2019s Antony and\nCleopatra<\/em>; \u2018Shakespeare:\nVisions of Rome\u2019, a special issue of Shakespeare<\/em> (the\njournal of the British Shakespeare Association); and the collection Roman Women in Shakespeare and His\nContemporaries<\/em> for Medieval Institute Publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is currently editing The Householder\u2019s Philosophy<\/em>\u00a0for an edition of\u00a0The Collected Works of Thomas Kyd<\/em>\u00a0(gen. ed. Brian Vickers) to be published by Boydell & Brewer. Other current work in progress includes two books for Manchester University Press: the monograph John Fletcher\u2019s Rome: Questioning the Classics<\/em> for the Revels Plays Companion Library series and a modern-spelling critical edition of Fletcher and Massinger\u2019s The False One<\/em> for the Revels Plays series. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
