Bionote<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iolanda Plescia, Ph.D., is Lecturer\nin English Linguistics and Translation at Sapienza University of Rome, where\nshe teaches history of the English language, stylistics and literary\ntranslation. She has published work on Shakespeare\u2019s language, early modern\ntranslation, multilingualism, early modern scientific language, the circulation\nof Galilei\u2019s work in English.  She has\nproduced the first Italian edition of Henry VIII\u2019s Letters to Anne Boleyn<\/em> (Nutrimenti, 2013) as well as new annotated translations\nof Shakespeare\u2019s Troilus and Cressida<\/em>\nand The Taming of the Shrew<\/em> (Feltrinelli, 2015, 2018); she edited a\nspecial journal issue on Shakespeare\u2019s language (The Shape of a Language –\nMemoria di Shakespeare. A Journal of Shakespearean Studies<\/em>) in 2017; her\nco-edited book (with D. Montini) Elizabeth\nI in Writing: Language, Power and Representation in Early Modern England<\/em>\nwas published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has been a member of the\neditorial board of Memoria di\nShakespeare. A Journal of Shakespearean Studies<\/em> since 2012, and is\ncurrently a member of the Executive board of Iasems<\/em> \u2013 Italian\nAssociation of Shakespeare and Early Modern Studies<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to her work on the\nearly modern period she is also a founding member of the Italian Virginia\nWoolf Society<\/em>, and her interest in Woolf has led to her forthcoming\ntranslation of Flush: a Biography<\/em> for Feltrinelli (2019). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
